Endoscopy
Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy is an examination of your colon (large bowel). A flexible camera tube is passed through the anus/rectum into the colon. Images are captured live and displayed on a monitor where you and your specialist can see. Special instruments can be passed down the endoscope to take biopsies or remove polyps or lesions for further testing. You have the choice of undergoing the procedure with or without sedation.
